Wonderful guide
Reviewed October 26, 2017
We spent the day with Tugrul to visit Priene, Miletus and Didyma and it was like spending the day with a friend. We had so much fun and laughed all day. Tugrul is so knowledgable and he makes the tour so interesting. We really noticed the difference when we had another guide the next day. We missed Tugrul. He is an excellent guide!!!

Unforgettable Ephesus with Amazing Tugrul!
Reviewed October 10, 2016
We were a group of 4 and this was our first experience visiting a historic site with a guide. It is difficult to express the value added to our visit by Tugrul except to say it was a once in a lifetime experience that none of us will ever forget. Ruins turned into magnificent stories brought to life by the vast knowledge of the history and lifestyle of the site and its inhabitants shared in a fascinating style by Tugrul. Tugrul is amazing and we highly recommend using him as your guide.

Fabulous Tour Guide
Reviewed July 14, 2016
My wife and I toured with Tugrul from Bodrum to Izmir via Ephesus and Pergamon for three magical days in May. Tugrul is a gem. His English is superb and is matched by his profound knowledge of the history of the region, warmth, friendliness and sense of humour. Tugrul is a true student of history from Greek to Roman through to Byzantine times who imparted to us his love of the region with its deep Jewish and Christian roots. We had not appreciated how much there is to see and wish that we had given ourselves more time. We think that Tugrul knows every block of marble by name.

Beyond history, Tugrul is an accomplished musician and a lover of local arts and handmade carpets. Importantly, he knows his food, taking us to superb restaurants for lunch such as the one operated by the mother of My Mother's Kitchen cookbook by a Turkish-American woman and another on the coast where Tugrul bought fresh fish from the local fishermen's co-op which he had prepared at a neighbouring restaurant. He never pushed us or even mentioned shopping, which so many tour guides do, but when we mentioned that we were interested in leather goods he knew exactly where to take us.

Finally, mention should be made of Tugrul's friend and driver, Alp. Not only was Alp a great driver, but shared some great stories and has an excellent sense of humour. Ask him about his tattoos."

We have no hesitation in recommending Tugrul and we hope to return soon.

Trip to Miletus, Didyma and Priene from Kusadasi

Reviewed November 7, 2015

We had an all day private tour with Tugrul Sokmen as our guide. It was a wonderful day. He is very knowledgeable about the history of all sites as well as his country. Very professional and polite. He was prompt and even presented us with a gift of a book about all the sites we saw. A wonderful souvenir . Our driver was excellent as well. A great day and for those who are interested in a tour other than Ephesus this tour is the one. We chose it as we had previously seen Ephesus.
