Hard to describe absolute perfection in a tour and guide. My husband and I have traveled since 1971 and we have never had a guide as knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and hard working. Tugrul our guide is so passionate about Turkey and it’s history. We learned so much . I plan on touring Eastern Turkey next Spring with Tugrul as our guide.

◦ I so enjoyed traveling with a private tour guide. Tuğrul Sokmen of Trips in Turkey. We ventured off the touristy routes and
were privileged to see a Turkey most will never know. Our days were planned to appear unplanned and we could stop and take pictures of the incredible views at our leisure. We met the people and were welcomed for tea. We ate at local restaurants and the food was fresh and delicious. Thanks to Trips in Turkey for an unforgettable adventure.

A day of discovery in Ephesus!
Reviewed October 29, 2016
We spent the whole day around Kusadasi and Ephesus with Tugral and could not have been more satisfied! Tugral is extremely knowledgeable and has a great way of explaining what you are seeing in a way that is easy to understand. He took us to the museum first to give us a base of info before we explored the ruins - a big plus in our opinion. We will definitely use Tugral again on our next trip to Turkey.

Tugrol Sokmen First rate Tour Guide
My husband is in a power wheelchair and we worked with Tugrol to ensure that we could both get to see Ephesus. Tugrol picked us up at the cruise port in his minibus that had a lift and drove us to tour Ephesus and the surrounding area. We were so impressed with the depth of his knowledge of the area. But equally important was that Tugrol helped my husband get to places in Ephesus that we thought he wouldn't be able to. He even got my husband up several steep ramps and into the stadium! Tugrol is truly a wonderful tour guide and treats every person with care and concern. When I asked to stop and get a drink of pomegranate juice he found a place where they squeezed fresh pomegranates and cold oranges for the most refreshing drink I have ever had. I wouldn't have traded this private tour with Tugrol for anything! Highly recommended!
Truly Local Tour
Reviewed August 14, 2016
Turgul treated us like family on a visiting. Not only did he give us an in-depth tour of Ephesus - and his knowledge of the history is extensive - he showed us around to places where the locals go. For example, he took us to a local restaurant for lunch that included a fabulous buffet whereby we could try so manty Turkish dishes. We told Turgul that we wanted to experience a Turkisg bath so at the end of the day he squeezed in a session at a bathhouse in town. We just felt so comfortable with him due to his friendly demeanor, affable personality, and great customer service attitude. I enjoyed his tour so much more than the standard cruise ship excursions.
Tugrul's the best!

Tugrul led a group of eight of us through Ephesus and everyone was thrilled with the experience. He was knowledgeable, pleasant and an expert at working around the crowds to ensure the best possible experience. He guided us through the museum as well as Ephesus and the Terrace Houses, which are definitely worth the extra admission fee. The day also included lunch and a presentation at a a carpet co-op. Be sure to wear good walking shoes, though, as the ground is uneven and you do a lot of walking. At the end of the day my fit band said I'd walked 6.2 miles!
Outstanding Tour of Ephesus
Reviewed July 2, 2016
Having been to Ephesus now for the third time, I didn't look forward much to this return visit but, at the last minute, joined a tour arranged by a fellow traveler on our cruise. I was very pleasantly surprised to be completely satisfied with our outstanding tour led by "Toro" our guide (and company owner, I believe). His extensive knowledge of the historical details of this landmark site made Ephesus "come alive" once more! The tour included the Terrace Houses which had been restored and expanded since my last visit and this "extra" is a highly recommended add-on to the basic admission ticket. We also had an informative lunch stop at a local (and truly authentic) Turkish carpet manufacturer's facility. The food was a locally homemade Turkish spread and delicious. The owner of the facility gave us an informative tour describing all the stages of authentic double knot Turkish rug fabrication and there was absolutely NO pressure to buy any of his rugs but, for anyone in the market, this would have been a wonderful place to pick up an amazing carpet.
According to Toro, Turkish tourism is down by 90% due to world conditions (and not helped by the recent bombing in Istanbul). The one bright spot for Turkey seems to still be the cruise ship tourist from Kusadasi. We felt completely safe while there. Additionally, in my opinion, the price for our tour was very reasonable for our small group. All in all, we had a wonderful day with our guide and I would HIGHLY recommend his company for any kind of tour in this area.
Wonderful experience for abled and disabled
Reviewed July 2, 2016
Tugrul did a terrific job of navigating the area and knew exactly where my husband's wheelchair could go with the least amount of challenges. It was amazing that my husband could see what he saw. Tugrul was hands-on the whole time helping my husband navigate through the cobblestones and ruins. (and by helping I mean pushed him the whole time! ) Always a smile on his face and a willingness to help!
Tugrul is very very knowledgeable and presents himself well. He's got the kind of personality where you feel like you are on vacation with an old friend. The icing on the cake was that on the ride up and back he not only told us about the areas we were driving through but also came and sat with us in the back so that we could hear every word. Every other tour guide that we had on our vacation sat in the front with the driver. It was hard for a disabled person sitting in the back to hear. There is no problem hearing Tugrul.
I did a lot of research for accessible tours and I have to say this is stellar and you would not go wrong by hiring him.
